More than surprised that there was no Daria Strokous at Versace HC.
Even your token black girl wasn't there i.e. Jasmine Tookes.

The casting at Dior was so vanilla.. (in more than one ways).. just like the collection. Blah

Raf Simons' Dior is, as I predicted when he was appointed, lacking in diversity. The black girls will be few and far between from this point forward. I hope he proves me wrong this September but with his casting history I know he won't...

Love the diversity this season . Mindblowing!

Only in the current state of fashion would Jasmine Tookes be passed up by the three biggest designers who have shown thus far, so that another 15 year old bambi could walk in her place. I know that I shouldn't be appalled by now, but some things never fail to disappoint you.

Anyway, you know something's wrong when it looks like Chanel might have the most diverse cast of the season...

it has definitely been disappointing with the lack of asian and black models on the runway for couture so far! i didn't even realise until i came into this thread, that only ming and fei fei where at dior! it's kind of sad really, we need more diversity!

Sui He was also at Dior. Actually when Raf was at Jil Sander, there were black girls walking the show, but there weren't any asians. I believe Fei Fei was the last for Fall 2010.
Maida and Rami also never cast asians for Calvin Klein but they do cast one black girl every season.

All assumptions were wrong
Almost all white girls at Chanel except for Xiao Wen Ju and Sui He
It's a contest of Vanilla it seems

I HATE the fact that "directional" usually means an all white cast. Its rediculous. Maida and Rami and Russell Marsh contribute alot to this. They should look at Givenchy...their cast is directional but very diverse. Kudos to Michelle Lee, James Scully, and John P. For recognizing beauty of all color.

Is this the first time ever Karlie missed a Dior show? It finally took Raf to get rid of her, lol. But the cast was beyond terrible. So it's a wash.

Wixson is having the best HC week thus far. Opened Versace, closed Chanel and also did Dior and Valli. Wow.

Dior's cast was terrible. With so many stunning ethnic girls to cast this week, you choose to get girls like Nicole Pollard? That kind of logic doesn't work with me.

Leave it to Givenchy to save the couture week, though... finally a diverse and exciting cast.

I'm so confused that tall girls like Karlie, Frida didn't show up at Dior. Maybe it's because there'll be no more complex and long gowns during Raf's era. And I'm also surprised Julia Nobis opened it! It's a little bit awkward to me. She also opened Valli so it's a great couture week for her as well.
As to Lindsey...I didn't expected she would close Chanel, I just thought of Saskia would do.

Julia Nobis & Lindsey Wixson are the highlights in the HC FW. I agree too we need more diversity, esp for the notable fashion designers (of course with the exception of Givenchy). I noticed the less notable ones are embracing diversity! Just look at Juliane Fourne & Ulyana Sergeenko..

Daria is the new Karlie I guess.
If i think at Dior i would think of Stam, Sasha, Karlie, Frida and not Daria S.
But i think i have to accept Dior has changed into more simple beauty and minimalism and so will the models.

The lack of diversity is very sad. You would think some things are changing since Joan got her first og campaign and big covers..

Wow to wixson. not really my cup of tea, but she is doing really good.
