These days it's more about having it-girls in your show than having girls that fit the mold of the brand. I mean... does Karlie REALLY fit Gucci? Does Julia? Does Suvi? No. But they are popular right now. Which is why we'll never get the castings we want anymore.
And sadly the IT girls of today are the most unconventional looking ones
How could you not want Adrianna lima at prada? Imo It would be a pleasure to see her on any runway. Is it because she's a woman, and prada usually casts girls? Please explain Posted via Mobile Device

It's more likely they just aren't a fan of Adriana's look. Being a "woman" would be a very strange reason to dislike a model don't you think? Not one I've ever heard of.

Uhm, that's just his opinion, and I share that opinion. Adriana for Prada would be horrible but it's probably going to happen since Prada loves gimmicks.

Karlie Kloss was actually a Gucci exclusive back in 2007...so just sayin.
People still have prejudice over VS models? I thought we had passed this after the 2010 revolution.
Nope. And I don't think it ever will. I saw a comment in Karlie's thread where it was something like "so glad she's back to HF" - as if Karlie ever left. Or any of the VS girls whose roots were in HF, for that matter.
well i think adriana (it doesn't matter if i like her or not) doesn't fit the prada aesthetic, we all know which aesthetic prada represents for years..i would like to say adriana is a classic beauty and really sexy for brand like prada, i can't relate her womanly look to the prada look, i immediately think of tacky clothes which is probably wrong belife..i think that mix of prada and sexy girls doesn't work at all at least for me and mine perception of the brand..it's great PR without doubt, but prada doesn't need PR like that..i would prefer to see her at versace or dolce&gabbana show than prada
Well I'm just not a fan of Adriana's look and like someone else she doesn't suit Prada at all. I don't have any prejudice against VS models, it would be wonderful to see Anne Vyalitsyna again.

do you think she fits the brand? especially back in 2007 when she was 15-16?
Gucci under Frida Gianini is more floaty than Gucci under Tom Ford. So yes, I think Karlie fits Frida's perspective but she doesn't fit the Gucci/Tom Ford aesthetic. When people think of Gucci casting they think of either Frida's attempt to be like the Tom Ford era (but failing) or the Gucci under Tom Ford era, which is extremely exotic girls like Liya Kebede and Ai Tominaga. Girls like Liya and Ai don't exist in the industry anymore. So in a way, I don't see Nadja Bender, Abbey Lee or Karmen as Gucci girls but Frida's girls.
any models whether they fit prada's aesthetic or not can be on the runway and mg campaigns.
they just need to bring models that can spice up their shows a bit so adriana is a big possibility or any big models for that matter.
same goes with mg campaigns, almost any kind of hf models can do mg campaigns. mirranda did it a few years ago. she wasnt that great but it was a mg campaign so there was no big deal.
