^^As much as I like her a lot, Stef van der Laan at 4:05 has such an awful walk. She always looks like "wtf am I doing here?" while walking. I'm sure she would be booked more if she had a better walk.

So that's her name! I feel the same way too when I see her at shows. I think she's gorgeous but the walk Imo she's going to be another Lara, Catherine McNeil...

Compared to latter seasons I loved the Versace cast. Obviously some it-miscasts as Julia, HanneGaby, Ashleigh, Tilda and Cara, but even she was aaaalmost bearable. opening epic, Andrea, Linn K. many Versace repeaters pulled it off pretty tight. Samantha and Iris were smokin.
The whole thing just needed bigger more and tackier hair. Come on, it's Versace!

Versace casting was just okay for me. Nothing super special, though as other people mentioned, Kasia and Daria opening/closing together was great.
I loved the Blumarine cast! So much better than last season!

I wish they had Agne at Versace instead of Ashleigh, because that girl has a certain 'pow' to her walk and she can work it. Katya is more like a Kasia 2.0 and she's absolutely perfect for sexy shows like that. It's her second time to walk Versace right? She should become a regular.

There's many girls who don't really fit the Versace aesthetic, as "rock-ish" "punkish" as they try to make it, great girls like Chiharu, Julia Nobis, Kel Markey, etc. don't really have that loud "sexy" thing about them, as opposed to Vika or Andreea. I wonder what are they trying to achieve with these mixed castings, that don't necessarily add to the brand image

Karmens body is so major I cant even take it!! When she opened Dsquared with those toned and sexy arms I almost screamed at my computer screen. But anyway im starting to notice something strange. Most of the MDC top 50 are almost completely absent from the runways. For instance, jaquelyn jablonski, tati cotliar, anais mali, wang xiao, crystal renn,hana ben, and a lot more. It seems like new faces are taking over to the point where we see more of them than we see of the established girls. Its kind of annoying

At last, after several years of walking for Versace, Kasia deserves the opening spot. I'm so thrilled to see her together with Daria! Most exciting opening/closing so far! I'm not really interested with the in between. These new girls and those "vets" need to do a lot of research and practice on how to nail shows like Versace.

That's been the case for several seasons now. That's why it's so hard to figure out which of the new girls actually have any staying power or are just fillers in this constant feeding frenzy for new faces. It's almost as if the Calvin Klein syndrome has taken over the entire industry now. Every season, CK casts these new girls no one has ever heard or seen of as exclusives. People buzz all about them for a few days and then we never see them again or they show up in C list shows the following season.
All the designers now are in the same mindset, just tripping over themselves for untested interchangeable girls.

The industry is just over-saturated with a new girl every day. There's over 12 new faces featured on models.com every week. Imagine how many new models the 20+ relevant agencies in the world are considering every day or every week?

In general, a new girl who I know will last is someone with a face that sticks in my head and doesn't leave even if I don't like it. It's the type of face that sticks out of a crowd of girls that passed the model requirements. That didn't happen with CK last season or even this season!

The only ones who seem to emerge and benefit from the hype are some of the Prada, Balenciaga girls because they have Meisel on their side and they gain proper exposure following through with campaigns unlike CK, also some of Wang's exclusives already showing great potential but like you said, their fate remains undetermined.
