I love Sophie Dahl now - she looked great both ways, but I love her better thinner, just because it makes her features so pronounced - those amazing huge, doll eyes, etc etc. She's stunning.

Although, I really really have to note that "petite" refers to people of less than 5'4" stature...there could never be a successful "petite" model that way. Kate Moss is 5'6" or 5'7" so even she doesn't count...

i think i heard once that sophie dahl was paid money if she agreed not to lose weight, but i guess she did...so yea...

and i don't really mean petite supermodels, just models...or unknowns...if that's what you'd call them hehe

Everybody here talks about Crystal Renn as a case study of a plus-size model, but for other examples, I think some of the ones at that site where people found Crystal's pictures are much prettier:

Check out some of the pix of Barbara Brickner, or Kelsey Olson, or Charlotte Coyle, or Christina Schmidt, who is an actress too. I know - I've never heard of them before either. But I think they have more interesting looks than the more famous plus-size models, like Mia Tyler or Kate Dillon or Emme.

name dropping?

these are people I am close with.
I find it amusing that they are so glorified, as do they.

Katy Braitman is a 'petite model' , it's funny on the sites I've found featuring her they say she's 5'7 but in every magazine I have mentioning her they say her height is 5'6.

Mélanie Thierry , though she's only known in France I guess (she's 5'3 tall)

And Laetitia Casta is 5'7.

Shoe models are generally petite...
(under 5'6)
but rarely if ever are runway girls that small.

She was big in the States also and worldwide as she did Guess ads. She then left modeling for acting in France.

Also, I think there was a model years ago whose name was Katia Gagarina (not sure for the sp, though) and she was like properly petite model and was doing well. Don't have pics of her, though.

I think you're talking about Julie Ordon..who looks a lot like that girl, but Julie is about 5'7-5'8 and Sweadish.
