Her death has showed me to apprieciate life so much more, because ive been in a similar situation as her although i wasnt a model and ive wanted to take my life many, many times. Her passing has shown me that bo matter how hard it gets you just cant give up because if you do, youl leave so much behind, its like i apprieciate my life and my family while greiving her passing. Its so sad because i never knew her but yet she has shown me so much in a matter of hours with her passing, . I just had get it off my chest, sorry.

Explanation of Russian vs. Kazakh

Also it should be noted that Ruslana is Russian not Kazakh even though she was born in Kazakhstan and her passport shows her as a citizen of Kazakhstan. There are a lot of ethnic Russians in Kazakhstan, especially in Almaty, most of whom would blush at being called a Kazakh.

In many places including the former Soviet Union and the Balkans an individual's ethnicity is preferred over one's citizenship. Just like a Bosnian living in Croatia doesn't consider himself/herself to be a Croatian, a Russian living in Kazakhstan doesn't consider himself/herself to be a Kazakh.

I make this point because several media are calling her a "Kazakh model" and she wasn't. Kazakhs look entirely different from Russians being more Asiatic. Not scoring a racial or ethnic point, just making a cultural point which seems to get lost in Western journalism.

MDC gave a small tribute to Ruslana

We at MDC were all shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Ruslana Korshunova. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends. Ruslana will be remembered as the shining star she was.

Oh my, what a shock! She was such a beauty, and had a sparkle in her eyes in her runway shows. I cant believe it, this is so sad. What a tragedy.

May she rest in peace.

yes, the way she (probably) suicides is both violence against her and the the society .
