I'm going to Edinburgh in June, so this thread needs bumped
I know there is Louis Vuitton store, but is there a Chanel in Harvey Nichols?
Also I need Borders
As an Edinburgh resident who shops there every weekend i'm prob best answering your questions!
There is no Chanel available in Edinburgh.
Harvey Nichols has alreaqdy been mentioned in terms of department stores. There is also Jenners... this has however gone down hill a little since being taken over from House of Fraser. Both stock designer clothes... although Harvey Nichols is def the place for the higher end stuff. Much more NOW than Jenners. Worth a mention is also Frasers and John Lewis... Again a step down the ladder in terms of High end stuff.
The next main street to consider is Multrees Walk just beside Harvey Nichols. Off the top of my head there is LV, Armani, Mulberry, Oscar and Fitch, CK, and a few more but cant remember... just google Multrees Walk.
After that is George St... Loads of High End High St here and a few designer names. Gant, Jack Wills, Hobbs, Whistles, Karen Millen, Jigsaw, Phase 8, White Company, Rohan, Crombie, Kinross Cashmere, Joe Mallone, LK Bennett oh and Cruise which is a designer store with Prada and Gucci for women mainly.
Lastly my fav shopping st is at the west end... William St... has alot of little shops with interesting 'nice' individual designer items... Ark Angel and Hellen Bateman are my fav's
Im sure it's on Princess St... which is the main street for high st shopping... but it's gone really down hill recently... the only glimers of light being russell and bromley and zara.
I'm sure its at the West End of Princes St. Easy to get to
Go to Armstrong's Vintage Emporium, i love that place, always manage to find good pieces there. There is one on the Grassmarket and another on the Bridges, google and its little map thing will be able to help ya out if you decide to go there!
I've yet to visit Glasgow (It's on my to-do list ) Edinburgh is better than Aberdeen that's for sure! I don't know how I have coped the last 9 months without a zara!!

OMG 9 months without Zara? I seriously can't stay away from that store any longer than a week!
I think to be fair to Edinburgh it has got alot better in recent years with the addition of Multrees Walk... However... that said Glasgow is better for the shops... but at the same time they are so spread out... I dont know I just think im a bit of a snob and prefer the ambiance of Edinburgh!
Jenners is def well down hill now... it is such a shame as it used to be so fab!
Honestly though if you have not been to william st though you must go... its fab!
I can't wait to go to Edinburgh on Monday
Another annoying question: Does anyone know where I can get Vogue Nippon? Or any other Fashion magazines? I'm assuming there is a WHSmith?
