Favorite Stores In New York City
what are everyone's favorite stores in NYC?

why do you shop there?

what atmosphere do they have?

what is their core clientel?

what makes them unique to you?

what brands do they carry?

i just thought this would be an interesting topic to see why people shop where they do... to see what draws a consumer to a store... whether it be brands, exclusivity, or the atmosphere/sales reps.

a few in nyc i love:
ash ( they custom make anything, plus there in house designs are cool, i bought a pleated wool skirt with built in attatched corset)
alife rivington club ( i love sneakers.... they have everything.)
turntable lab ( not really a clothing shop, but sell cool music, krink paint , t's , mags... etc.)
henri bendel ( they have good selection )
filthmart- (used rocknroll clothes located in a dump that blasts the who and stones, and make sexxy low riding jeans much cooler than juicy, run by very helpful rockers, that press any iron on you wish, plus tailor your jeans to fit like a rocker)

Those stores sound awesome, but how are their prices? I'm making a list of places to go when I next visit NYC, but I'm on a budget.

What?!?!?!!?

And the Prada on B'Way is amazing. Its right next to my agency, I see it allllll the time. And I just like to stand a stare, kind of like Breakfast at Tiffany's, only not as chic.

hi, eloes.

the shops i mentioned can get expensive. although filthmart is quite cheap, sinse its a second hand shop. the jeans and concert tees are the most expensive items. jeans are about $ 140 usd. turntablelab is a music shop, they have graphic tees that run around 20 bucks, but everything they carry is pretty cool. those are cheap shops so you can have fun w/out dropping g's

Please guys, don't talk to much about Filthmart. I'd like to keep it secret

NY
CHELSEA:
Camouflage (for men)
Comme des Garçons & Balenciaga (too expensive but worth checking out)
Jeffreys & Stella McCartney in Meat Packing District

EAST VILLAGE:
Air Market (japanese stuff)
Kiehl's
Urban Outfitters

NOLITA:
DDCLab + other shops in Orchard St

UPPER
Barneys of course
