I am taking a trip to NYC this summer and I need some serious tips on where the best and cheapest places are to shop. I am going to be there in probably the last couple weeks of August

If you have any information on outlet stores, thrift stores, designer sales, etc give me some. Also I am interested in doing some jean and sneaker shopping so any places that are good for that would be nice to know about.

PLEASE HELP ME!

I have two words for you - "Century 21".
As far as sneakers/jeans - walk on Broadway from Canal to West 8th street - you'll see so many sneakers and jeans, you'll need therapy

End of August, ouch. It'll be scourching here...

hit SoHo...i mean i don't have enough time to get into all the stores you need to go to there. and don't make the mistake of spending all your money uptown.

Definitely wear comfy shoes for heavy shopping (Puma's are extremmmely comfy.... lol) SoHo has awesome shopping. Fifth Avenue which has Saks, obviously, Around Rockefeller Plaza is good shopping, Macy's, and sooo many other stores. Look at that nymetro site rayncloudx mentioned! good LUCK!

Cabs can be kind of expensive.. Maybe you could study up a lil on your subway lines that way you dont look silly on the corner with your big old map.

There are stores EEVVERYWHERE.... you def have to hit soho for shoes... and you have to hit fifth ave... Mmmm. What are you looking to buy when you come to the city?

I'd second the vote for Century 21.... What a store!
I'd alot at least 2 hours for that, if you are anywhere near a hard-core shopper, you'll want to go through everything!

The shoe stores on 8th St are awesome! I wish I'd have bought a bunch of shoes last time I was there... oh well, maybe I'll go up thi summer!

I love Olive and Bettes in SoHo...
