There are more beautiful women in Brazil than there are in Eastern Europe.

In eastern europe, from my observations, there are the few gorgeous women and then the rest are GROSS (Warts, Moles, gross teeth included)

In Brazil there are far more attractive women. To think of it, I don't remember ever seeing an ugly Brazilian woman.

I dont think the discussion revolves around which area is 'ugly' or which is 'beautiful'!!
it's a business interpretation of the fashion business-- and its true brazil was big about 5 years ago. and the last few years have belonged to russia/east europe [and other europeans & canada].

there are beautiful women in EVERY country I dont think this should turn into an ugly vs beauty ethnographic debate!!

Maybe the superboom is over for the brazilians, but there are a lot of girls still around and new comers. Plus the list that opened this topic includes lots of commercial models and let out some fashion ones... go to style.com see how many brazilians are there -- LOTS.

And south america IS NOT a continent. I know the USA loves to proclaim as America ( like its just them and nothing else) . Anyhow, Im not gonna get into a political discussion.

5 continents : America, Europe,Asia, Africa & Oceania

But,
I think in terms of the fashion industry and what is the 'in' thing right now - Eastern Europeans models are it. But it's all subjective. I think it's scandalous to suggest one season a nationality is in and the next it's out! It's thinly veiled prejudice

I agree with that roppal
Personally I can't make a decision between those two ends of the world (ok, not really ends, but nearly), although I can relate more to the Europeans considering I am from the Netherlands. Also, I'm not too fond of the tanned beachy Brazilians (Isabeli, Adriana, Fernanda), but their fellow Brazilian models compensate that (Cintia, Jeisa, Milagros, Caroline, Jessica P, Michelli).

Sorry about the off topic but this is serious.
I have to agree with you , in school my teachers taught me always that we have 7 continents... I'm confused to hear that South America is not a continent....

I think it's seasonal, one day is Brazilian, the next Russian, or German or English. But at the moment it's the Eastern Euro/Russian invasion. I remeber several years ago when almost all the model backstage are yelling at each other in portuguese. now they're just like a sweet dream, we woke up to find them just a handful. Luck plays a lot in modelling you just have to be in the right moment and the right theme.

Cheminazzo, Trentini, Fontana, Francischini are 100% Italian surnames

Leticia B has Swedish & Italian roots. she said that on Rede TV.
a résumée of the interview posted a couple of years ago by a brasilian guy :
"Leticia was discovered during a volley ball match. She went after the
ball when it bounced away from the court, and a dude asked if he
could talk to her. She said no, because she was in the middle of the
game and said to the guy that they could talk later. She was 18 at
the time. Well, the dude waited there 2 hours, and after the match
was over, he revealed itself as a model that worked for and agency in
São Paulo. He encouraged her to become a model but she said she
needed to ask her mother first. The guy went to a phone cabin, and
phoned her mother. Her mother was surprised, because a stranger was
phoning her about her daughter becoming a model. The scout, asked
Leticia to go to São Paulo, but she didn't.

After a month, a photographer came from São Paulo and met Leticia. He
asked her to do a photography session with him, like a test. He was
just dazzled by Leticia. He finally had to return to São Paulo, and
there Elite, saw Letici'as pics and was very impressed. Well, Elite
found Leticia's phone number and pestered her mother to come to São
Paulo. Her mother decided to spend the january vacation there, so she
went along with Leticia and she finally decided staying with Mega.

She mentioned two model agencies: New York Models and Mega. She also
explained that herOriental look is due to her Swedish descendence.
She has both Swedish and Italian descedence. She speeks five
languages fluently: french, italian, english, spanish and portuguese.

She had a sister that is much younger than her and is an actress. Her
sister just ended doing a Soap Opera in Globo, her name is Michelle.
Leticia is currently 24 years old.

Her surname is german: Birkheuer and is pronounced very differently
than I thought. It's something like Bee-keu-er

Leticia acted in a movie! with Gwyneth Patrol. The name in Brazil was
called "O amor é Cego". In the movie she palyed herself, but she
didn't say anything. She appeared in a scene where everyone was
dancing in a saloon. She currently attended tests to be in Brad
Pitt's new movie about the war in Greece.

She didn't mention any new works, but she did say that 2002 was her
best year. She won much more money. She also said that she currently
lives in New York, and has plans to continue living there.

She just came from Europe, where she spent like a month with her
mother. She also said that she is investing her money on stuff for
her house. Her father takes care of her money and her mother goes
along with her in the trips"

Raquel Zimmermann and Cintia Dicker parents are from Germany_ they said that on FTV

Fluent in 5 beautiful languages, what a talent. Thanks for your reply

I always wondered how it was possible that Cintia & Raquel are from Brazil but have German/Danish sounding surnames. Doh, they ARE from Germany
