Kamofie & Co. spokesman Christopher Spencer said the Associated Press was approached after the family was inundated with media requests for the footage. “The pressure after two months was so intense they had to make a decision to let Associated Press circulate the video.”
Spencer said there was also too much speculation about the video recording, and that “It was right for the public to be able to see the video itself.”
Spencer would not say how much the family made off the sale of the video. “At this point at this moment the family has not received any money from the AP,” he said.
But when the news of the video release hit the gossip websites, the owners of the store announced they planned to auction off the one-of-a-kind necklace and donate the proceeds to charity after they get it back from the Los Angeles Police Department.
“Kamofie and Co. have been put on trial through the gossip columnists showing up at their front door,” said Spencer. “They felt they only had the alternative to let it happen and now their integrity is in question.” Spencer said the family has received death threats and hate mail.

Lindsay Lohanhas quit smoking -- a great move for her health ... whether there's a jail sentence for probation violation on her horizon ... or not (as she continues to believe).

Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ she's continuing on the path to a healthier life by kicking her nicotine habit ... cold turkey no less. We're told Lindsay quit about a week ago and now works out with a trainer every morning.

While LiLo has been adamant about not accepting a plea bargain that includes jail time -- Lynwood Correctional Facility ... her old haunts ... is a non-smoking detention center.

I think she needs to have been off the smokes for more than 1 week to say she's QUIT smoking. Getting past the true physical nicotine addiction takes a lot longer than a week.
Anyway, it's a great step for her. I hope she sticks with it.

^ I'm really puzzled by this report...If it was so devastating and the authorities know about it, wouldn't there be some sort of charges involved? Doesn't make any sense yet...:unsure:

This past Sunday was "family day" in VH1's Celebrity Rehab.
Astonishingly, Michael Lohan's stood him up in that piece.
The drama began when MiLo "wanted Lindsay, Ali, and the rest of the family to come for family day," says a source. "Michael even wanted Dina to come."

"They all refused, they don't want to appear on camera in that setting, period."
"Michael grew very upset. Emotions were very raw for him. Soon, thereafter, all hell broke out between other patients and families," the insider said.
Viewers will be in for "quite a shock when it airs," the source says.
Dr. Drew "handled the mayhem with pure professionalism, as he always does," despite all he has on his plate (the Michaele Salahi debacle, etc).
Celebrity Rehab 5 is set to premiere in May on VH1. As for what brought MiLo to the show? Anger issues. Yes, he's addicted to rage. And fame.
