16.

Does that mean you’re in year 10 at school?
Year 11.

Are you from Sydney?
I was born in New Zealand but I’ve lived in Sydney since I was three so I’m practically Australian.

Where abouts in Sydney do you live?
Paddington; just around the corner.

Is this your first time walking at Fashion Week?
Yes.

That’s exciting. Have you walked in any shows before?
Well, I did LIFEwithBIRD this morning, and that was really amazing. The people were so lovely as well.

So it was a good first time?
Yeah, it was really good.

What Australian designers do you like?
I really like Kirrily Johnston’s stuff. I like Bec & Bridge too, they have some cool things for my age as well.

What other jobs have you been doing lately?
I did an editorial for Black Rainbow which is a French magazine, and I did some stuff for Dion Lee and then a Mink Pink campaign.

Is it hard to juggle modeling with school?
Yeah, it’s really hard to balance everything.

Are your teachers cool with it?
Yeah, my school’s pretty flexible but it is hard to manage everything especially going into year 12 at the end of this year.

Do you know what subjects you’re going to do?
I’m going to do French, economics, English obviously, 2 unit maths, and bio.

What’s a band that you really like at the moment? 
I like Rihanna.

Me too.
I like festival music as well.

DGECLIFF’S Gabby Westbrook-Patrick will be looking to out-strut her peers at the 21st Annual Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search.

The 15-year-old will be looking to impress the judges when the competition hits Westfield Parramatta on July 16.

“I used to model when I was younger, I probably started when I was about five and did it until I was about 12,’’ she said.

“I do read Girlfriend and a lot of other magazines, so when I saw the coupon I just decided to try out.’‘

If she’s successful in the competition she will join an impressive list of models who have been discovered in previous Girlfriend searches.

The competition has jump-started the careers of many of Australia’s most successful models, including Alyssa Sutherland, Catherine McNeil, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Ruby Rose and Samantha Harris.

At five-foot nine-and-a-half, Gabby has a model’s height, but it’s not the only thing the talented teenager has going for her.

“I’m playing basketball this season and next season I’ll play netball,’’ she said. “I also play touch football and do athletics.”

Winners in the competition will earn themselves two-year contracts with CHIC Management, as well as fashion shoots in London and Sydney.

I see a little bit of Megan Fox in her, and she is indeed beautiful. Yet I feel she needs to mature her face a tad bit, age-wise, and she needs to test a bit more.

She's definitely a high-end commercial girl though.
