Guilliame Henry seems to be obsessed with this incredibly Art Nouveau sinuous line which is, of course, absolutely Parisian.
The clothes are incredible quality and the designs, what with the skirts that curve up at the front and up at the back and the curved cutouts (which will undoubtedly be compared to Prada spring 2008) and graceful seam lines that follow the contours, they are all quite individual and that's what makes Carven such an exciting house.
The look that stands out in my mind is the red wool jacket worn with different shades of red. A great collection.

I'm speechless!! This collection exceeded my expectations. Though it felt more like f/w, it's soooo beautiful and I love just about every single piece.

The prints on the dresses look like something you would see on a safari? Animals, trees, and jeeps I think.

Love it as usual, the lines of the dresses are so chic and look like they'll be very flattering. It's very very good, but it doesn't feel summery at all?

It's a bit clumsy, but Carven can do no wrong for me. :heart:

I love Carven and have recently bought two great Carven items, so Carven is always a show that I anticipate a lot. Because I know something might end up in my closet.

Now this was as usual a great show with some great pieces. In terms of wearability though I'm not quite as convinced. I could have done without all those cut outs and without the midriff baring tops. The color scheme is nice but feels very fall/winter. So all in all I have mixed feelings. Lovely shapes and tailoring but I guess I won't end up buying any Carven next season.

That's really beautiful :heart: :heart: Carven has definitely grown on me.

The colors are gorgeous, though very autumn-y. Also, with some of the pieces I feel they only will suit a tiny pre-puberty girl...Not flattering to most women in my opinion.

I love that there's always a slightly preppy undercurrent to his collections, and that he doesn't push the girl influenced pieces too far so as to keep a woman from wanting to wear them -- the latter of which far too many designers fail at these days. The tailoring is beautiful, although I don't care for the kidney shaped cutouts. I can't say I'm hugely impressed, but it's a solid enough collection.

this is what i imagine fashion featured in tradeshows look like, it's probably worse there but this is just so uninteresting

some of the cut outs work - some don't. overall i like it.
