breathe0xygen 01-01-2005 02:34 AM

Put in a title, or some keywords relating to the topic in the "Search" in the menu above and check the results.

Can you delete a thread that you started?

You can delete a post within your normal editing window, I think it's about five minutes. After that, you would need to ask a moderator to delete your post.

You can't delete an entire thread.

A picture is often better than a thousand words..

Once you click the link it's just like making a post

NB! Remember to do a thorough search to see if a similar thread has been made before.. here: http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/search.php
before starting a new thread.

Appropriate Thread Titles

What is the requirement for thread titles? Even though it happened "back in the day," I still see a lot of threads titled "Help me please!!!!!!!!!" or "If you're cool..........." and it has to do with hair care or finding a certain designer item, etc.

Do these threads eventually get merged?

I don't find it helpful looking through threads with titles like that; it distracts from what the thread could actually be called or could be under instead.

The tFS guidelines state:

Quote:

  1. Before starting a new thread, take a look ensure that there is not already a pre-existing thread discussing the same matter. Administrators and Moderators of tFS have the right to delete or merge duplicate threads. If starting a new thread, please post a title that accurately reflects the contents and information within the thread so that members are not misled.

We do our best to catch these misleading/vague titles and change them and/or merge them with similar topics. However, we cannot be everywhere at all times and sometimes these types of threads are just missed by the Mod team.

The best thing members can do is 1) report the post and describe the infraction (i.e. needs title change, needs merged, etc.) and 2) if applicable, post a link to the existing thread in the new thread so a Mod can easily merge the two.

Thanks for bringing this up! We can all use a reminder of the guidelines from time to time :flower:
