Whale Rider's 16-year-old actress pregnant with first child!!
Babies...Havin' Babies...
http://i12.tinypic.com/2zz3vom.jpg Whale Rider star Keisha Castle-Hughes, 16, and her boyfriend, Bradley Hull, 19, are expecting their first child this spring, her rep tells PEOPLE. The two have been dating for three years. The actress first made waves playing the fiery Paikea in 2002's Whale Rider – a role for which she received a Best Actress Oscar nomination. At 13, she was the youngest Best Actress nominee in history. "I thought I was still dreaming," she told PEOPLE about the honor at the time. Since Whale Rider, Castle-Hughes has taken few roles, though she did play the Queen of Naboo in 2005's Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and will appear as Mary in the upcoming movie The Nativity Story co-starring Shohreh Aghdashloo. The Australia-born actress grew up and still lives in New Zealand and – like her character in Whale Rider – is part Maori. Source: People and Celebrity Baby Blog |
x_X woa.... I would have never expected that from her!!
|
She is hardly a baby at 16. I suppose it depends on the person.. actors who have been working for a long time tend to be more mature for their age. Good luck to her!
|
Wow. I actually forgot about her until this post. She was great in Whale Rider. Good for her, if she is happy. I hope that she is a responsible and loving mother.
|
Has she done any movies since Whale Rider?
|
Even if you are mature, having a child at 16 is still a BIG deal. I moved overseas by myself when I was 17 and have lived abroad by myself. It doesn't mean I'm ready to have a baby. But I'm sure she has an excellent support system in place as well as the money to care for her child and that is what is important (the support system).

She's still too young to have a kid, no matter how much money you have or what industry your in. i hope everything works out for her.....
|

WHAT!
HOLY CRAP! OH My GOd! |
I hope it will all works out, but it often doesn't. :(
|
Wow......she's so young.
BTW, all actors are *not* mature. Just because they are in a cutthroat business does not make them mature. dlg |
^ Agreed.
And IMO, no one is emotionally ready to have a kid at 16, I don't care what anyone says. I'm 20 and would be scared s***less if I found out that I was pregnant. And he's 19 and she's 16? WTF. Where I'm from you could get 5-10 years for that. |
I feel like that is so wrong but I know that there are a lot of people with fantastic mothers who had them when they were 16, so i can only hope that it all works out for her.

Another unmarried actress knocked up, big surprise
