How long has Marie Claire South Africa been looking like this? and where have I been?!

I love it, I even love the strategy of going for a reprint of such an icon as Kate Moss to generate attention and then bam, all these incredible stories full of local names and crafted in such a simple, slightly Dazed & Confused-meets-US Elle way but looking like nothing we're seeing in any other magazines out there. I guess this is the evident downside of not having a Vogue South Africa, that you miss on being the [affluent] outlet that exhibits the possibilities of fashion way beyond 'northern' parameters but still in perfect tune with them, if that makes sense.

From the photographers, down to the stylists, models and people like Lesley Whitby, it's all quite.. melodic. Whoever's in charge of the direction of the magazine is really doing a fantastic job. I hope they eventually have the freedom to do more representative covers even though it's really not necessary for me. This is a good example of what you can do in Africa and I hope other publishers take note of that.
