I think his being on the cover has more to do with the fact that he's almost certainly getting an Oscar nomination for Moneyball, the hit film he starred in this year and he got some pretty rave reviews for his turn in Terrence Malick's Tree of Life, also garnering some Oscar buzz (though imo it's far from a sure thing). Since this is the Hollywood issue and Brad Pitt is an A+ list movie star with two buzzed-about performances in well-received films this past year, and three new films slated for release in 2012, it's not at all surprising that he's on the cover. He has just as much, if not more, right to be there as Charlize.
