DGECLIFF’S Gabby Westbrook-Patrick will be looking to out-strut her peers at the 21st Annual Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search. The 15-year-old will be looking to impress the judges when the competition hits Westfield Parramatta on July 16. “I used to model when I was younger, I probably started when I was about five and did it until I was about 12,’’ she said. “I do read Girlfriend and a lot of other magazines, so when I saw the coupon I just decided to try out.’‘ If she’s successful in the competition she will join an impressive list of models who have been discovered in previous Girlfriend searches. The competition has jump-started the careers of many of Australia’s most successful models, including Alyssa Sutherland, Catherine McNeil, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Ruby Rose and Samantha Harris. At five-foot nine-and-a-half, Gabby has a model’s height, but it’s not the only thing the talented teenager has going for her. “I’m playing basketball this season and next season I’ll play netball,’’ she said. “I also play touch football and do athletics.” Winners in the competition will earn themselves two-year contracts with CHIC Management, as well as fashion shoots in London and Sydney.
