@RedandNavy: I think your thoughts seem very realistic compared to your goal of buying 1 item each month. I think I might would allow myself a couple of items in the sales like you, but I'm thinking of moving my season so they follow the actual seasons, so it wont be an issue until the summer sales.
Right now my season are january through june and july through december. I'm thinking of taking a break when this season is done and starting over from march so my seasons will be spring/summer (March through August) and autumn winter (September through February). I am not going to go nuts in January and February but I am probaly going to stock up on some basics on the sales (my favourite jersey dress/top in grey and a new pair of black ballet flats).
As for now I have bought 8 out of 10 items - and I have bought a cheap, sequin clutch at E-bay to update my look, but I am not sure wether to count it as an item or as an accesory. I do not think I am going to shop a whole lot more this season since I am moving in fourteen days and need to buy a lot of furniture (and a new wardrobe to keep my clothes in). I would like a black woolen sweater, but I want it super basic, so I think I'll just go for Benneton.
