I think the term icon is overused on these forums. Kate Moss is an icon. She's a style icon to just about everyone and her outfits influence people around the world. Someone on the street would know of Kate Moss. But Natasha Poly? I don't think so. Hey, don't get me wrong I love Natasha, she's an outstanding model, my most favourite and deserves everything that comes her way. Natasha's an icon within the fashion industry, is that you were meaning?
The whole Vogue Italia discussion comes up just about every season, a discussion I take time to read and participate in. There must be something that's hindering her chances. Maybe Franca Sozzani isn't fond of her? Natasha's been cast before, but there's a difference between an appearance and snagging the front cover. It's blatant that Steven Meisel is a fan, shooting her for the Jimmy Choo fragrance and multiple other jobs. The thing about Italian Vogue and Meisel is that their both often so predictable.. so I'm always expectant of something great to come of Natasha and Meisel's relationship.
