I too prefer Ellen to Newton, mostly because her photos are just more aesthetic in my eyes. But both seem to be more often... somewhat sensitive conceptual artists. While composition is most important for me, because I'm just too dumb to sit around and think about how a woman is being portrayed. I have Newton's "Sex and Landscapes" book, and I just find that his landscapes are more beautifully photographed.

I understand what you guys are saying about Newton's fantasy image of women. But I see Ellen's fantasy women too. Maybe a lot of photographers do this. I don't really see anything wrong with it. It's art, make-believe. The difference between them I think though, is that Ellen's photographs are more alive.
