I'd have to go with Iman! She is a goddess and if weren't for her hotness, the newer African and models of African descent would not be here. She was fierce, educated, drop dead flawless and most of all from the motherland. Naomi, Oluchi, and Beverly P and J round out the top five dark beauties.
I just love Oluchi on the runway as much as I do her editorials.

I love this photo of Iman because it's so current and relevant! Her Tommy ads with her hubby David were off the chain and I forgave her promoting racist Tommy in the end because they were so beautiful. I dare anyone to find a woman her age who looks that good. She going on sixty soon and doesn't look a day of 30. (Google Search)

But I do love Liya (who I think is simply the most breathtaking thing since Iman in terms of complete and utter feminine beauty), Ajuma, Mimi Roche, Gerren and Jaunel for the new generation. I'm also starting to appreciate the mixed black models more these days. Some of them are completely beautiful and I think it's the blackness that makes them so. So hats off to Adriana, Ana Paula, Ana Bella, Sesilee, Katja S. and all of the other sistas holding it down out there.
