I think it may be a comfort level--I'd think about wearing Marc any day before I touched junkie glam from Dior Homme. I don't want to look like I walked out of Kate Moss' birthday party, who cares about Kate Moss?
Menswear is having a moment but thank the gods that all designers aren't jumping onto that same bandwagon. While most may consider it encouraging that Miss Horyn sees the benefit in menswear developing a daring panache in the same vein as womenswear, I think many of the problems that exist in menswear can be attributed to just that. I also believe she may be hinting at the development of more androgenous lines period, where a designer would not have to show a seperate mens and womens line because the pieces can be worn by both sexes and yet not seem unisex. Dior strives a little in that direction and I think its interesting from a design point of view--but still...
