I got my subscriber's issue this morning, and this is one cover that works better with lots of coverlines, because without them, the focus is all on her face, but somehow, there's nothing to focus on in her face. However, the super-glossy fold-out Vuitton ad on the other side makes up for it.
It feels like more thought has gone into this September issue than UK Vogue put into theirs; their overall design is sharper and more exciting every month anyhow. I have yet to properly sit down and go through it, but I'm exciting at the prospect of getting back to this issue, whereas I haven't touched UK Vogue's September for two days now.
Lily Cole plays a stroppy maid in the Rosamund Pike edit; she has a face like thunder, she's the best thing in it. I almost wish she was on the cover, and I'm by no means a fan of hers.
