This is how UK Vogue deals with the credit crunch - I think the cover looks OK, but the choice of Cheryl Cole is designed to appeal along the same lines of the Victoria Beckham cover; the staff of Vogue probably detest what each woman stands for, but have realised that they sell.

"The story we all want to know" is a strange thing to say on the cover, you don't look to UK Vogue for popular scandal or a serious psychological profile, you look to it for the imagery. And Cheryl's life is covered each week by the gossip mags, so there isn't much left to say, for those who are interested. Emphasising the 'story' rather than the fashion is weird... but we've seen the US version do the same with the Aniston issue.
