Hi there,

I haven't worn a watch in almost a decade and would really like to start again but I need some help in selecting one. I'm looking to stay under $500 but would like the avoid the common "designer brands" such as Gucci, Coach, etc. I'm not into flaunting labels and would like to focus more on the construction of the watch itself. I'd like to find something with:
- a leather band
- black dial
- classic elegant look (but nothing too fancy like diamonds or crystals!)
- waterproof to a certain degree (as in, if i were washing my hands and accidentally splashed some water on it, it won't break down/stop)

Ideally, this Franck Muller watch would be perfect but I can even begin to dream about owning one of those!

I've looked high and low but couldn't seem to find any that I really liked and decided to seek the wisdom of tFS-ers!!! Any suggestions? Maybe some foreign brands that are lesser known? Hidden gems? Thanks in advance!!
