^^ Well, on this page alone there are something like 20 different add-on scripts running that aren't part of vBulletin. Things like postup.com, edge.quantserve.com, googleapis.com, static.chartbeat.com, cdn.triggertag.gorillanation.com, cdn.assets.craveonline.com, tcr.tynt.com and quite a few others. And that doesn't get into the ads and other things that have to load every time a page is displayed.
