i think that's indeed a high price for a "magazine" but the thing is that the concept of Visionnaire is not to be only a magazine but more like a book-object ...
so eventhough it's high price (and it does bother me to have to pay this price) you have to see it as a not so expensive piece of art ...
afterall that's photography and u can probably framed it (as a book-object Visionnaire tries not to have the same format for each issue) ... or if you're book addict (and have 1000$ to spend), buy a second sample and keep one in perfect condition ...
it's probably less expensive than a I&V 'original' image (which can go til + than $5000)
