W magazine (Wmag.com) is seeking a web-savvy intern to assist its online editorial and production team for the Summer 2011 semester. The New York Observer recently featured W as one of the three top internships to secure – one that offers “realistic insight into working life and a genuinely educative and enriching experience for students.”
Candidates should be detail-oriented and comfortable performing a range of web-related tasks, including formatting text and images in Moveable Type (or comparable blogging software), using basic HTML, resizing images with Adobe Photoshop and promoting blog posts to other websites.
Experience with video editing and/or a content management system is a plus. There are also ample opportunities to write or shoot photos for the W Editors’ Blog.
This internship is for college credit only, with a daily $12 stipend; applicants must be available 2-3 full days per week.
