“Oh my gosh, you look so hot! I want some of that,” Kate Bosworth gushed to her pal Vanessa Bruno, whose long, suntanned legs were clad in black shorts and thigh-high boots on Thursday night.

Bruno hosted a small dinner in honor of Bosworth in the private dining room at The Wolseley, with guests including Bosworth’s new beau, film director and producer Michael Polish.

“She really understands a woman’s sexuality, and her strength,” said Bosworth, who stars in a silent, melancholy fashion film promoting Bruno’s fall collection. It was shot in the Slovenian countryside, where Bosworth can be seen sailing, riding a horse, and running backward - and forward - at breakneck speed.

Bosworth said she loved the location: “It felt like ‘The Sound of Music’ to me, with the sugar-powder mountains in the background,” said Bosworth, who did all the stunts herself, “other than the back flips and crazy acrobatics.”

Bruno, who calls the film a “visual poem,” has been a busy lady. This month she’s opening stores in Madrid and Cannes. She also recently designed her first children’s wear collection for La Redoute’s fall catalogue.

CHASING KATE: “I’ve never been this busy,” said Kate Bosworth of her jam-packed movie schedule. “I’m 28 now. Life is getting interesting. The roles are getting interesting. I’m maturing and reading deeper into the material.” The bookish Bosworth — who crackles with intellectual energy — was chatting during a small dinner at the Wolseley in London hosted by her pal Vanessa Bruno. Bosworth appears in Bruno’s latest fashion film, a silent, melancholy work shot in the Slovenian countryside. Although the mood was very Ingmar Bergman, the location was fresh and upbeat. “I’d never been to Slovenia. It felt like ‘The Sound of Music’ to me with the sugar powder mountains in the background,” Bosworth said.

Her latest project is “Straw Dogs,” a remake of the Seventies film that starred Dustin Hoffman and Susan George, which comes out later this month. She’s also just filmed “Big Sur,” an adaptation of the Jack Kerouac novel, directed by Bosworth’s new beau, Michael Polish. The actress is also working on a film with co-star Kiefer Sutherland called “Fairytale of New York.” “It’s about a couple falling in love. And it’s driven by The Pogues songs,” she said
