"I strong-armed my husband into picking me up from the airport, since I couldn't lift my overweight luggage on my own one more time, and then I immediately headed to my go-to spa, Nice Nails, on Seventh Avenue in the West Village. I also got a crazy, sometimes painful, hour-and-a-half deep-tissue massage. Then it was off to El Charro for my favorite Spanish meal, Chicken Ajillo with a side of rice and black beans and lots of diced jalapenos. After dinner we went to Eataly for a glass of wine and shopped to fill the fridge for weekend hibernation. Saturday night we had friends over for a chili cook-off; I won of course, as my husband burnt his. The mission is to keep me awake as late as possible to get me back on East Coast time, but this isn't hard with a good playlist and a dance party."
