being a style icon isn't merely about shocking people all the time. being a style icon is about being true to your style and being distinctly different from everyone else. i mean no one would argue how influential and how discernibly different people like marlene dietrich,patti smith or françoise hardy and the like have been and none have ever been women who stray from their style.

i like this look on tilda a lot. i wasn't crazy about the use of those shiny silks but i love how she interpreted those pieces here. it looks rather quietly decadent....rich....like some kind of luscious mid-ages french upholstery....tailored to her body in non-flamboyant way.
