anyone own APC jeans out there? i need some help on the sizing bc i want to order a pair. here's what i wear in some other brands to give you an idea

diesel: kratt 32, zathan 30, rabox 30, ravix 31
paper denim: 31
seven: bootcut 31, relaxed 30
levi's premium: 32

i went to www.apc.fr and found that $109 for a pair of stiff, indigo, selvage jeans was too good of a deal to pass up, and way more accessible than Nudie jeans have been for me. i want to get the 'english style' cut. any comments and suggestions are welcome!

I have a very similar pair by Atelier de Production et Creation from a few years back in something like a thirty and they fit me with a belt (my waist varies between 26" and 28" I fit a 28 on Levi's California Slims, Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana jeans).

I've heard good things about APC jeans www.apc.fr but the site is quite confusing. Whether you choose mens or womens denim all the same jeans come up, the womens and unisex jeans are pretty self explanatory, but are all the rest mens? Does anyone know how they fit?

And finally, are they waist sizes in inches? I know its pretty standard in the UK and US, but what about France?

Unisex jeans, inside-out-jeans, unwashed jeans 'English style' and the new standard denims (which confusingly AREN'T in the denim section) are all mens as far as I know. With jackets APC is known for a slim fit, I don't know how the jeans are as I only own the 'English style' ones that are supposed to be baggy.

Cool, so quite likely to be slim fit jeans too. Are the sizes just standard US jeans sizes?

They vary. The really slim fits aren't on the site. I bought a pair of extremely fitted jeans from them that weren't on the site last Fall. Your best bet may be to call them.

I just bought another pair. They got a new shipment of raw denim jeans in, and they are amazing, the best, most no-nonsense pair I have seen in years. You're not supposed to wash them for 6 months, just wear them in until they hug your shape like mad. I'm short at 5'7", and their hipster style jeans fit me best, but just to show you size variance, i normally wear a 30" waist, and I had to go down to 27" because they said it should wear into shape, so get at least 2 sizes down. I love them. At $120, they're cheaper than a lot of designer jeans out there. They even come with a cute APC pin attached.

They do sound really good, I guess I'll email them and have a chat. I don't want skin tight, just slim. And at 6'2" I tend to have trouble finding anything with 34" inseam.

Then you'll have no problem with APC. Believe you me, their inseams are looooong. Their slimmest style right now (in the raw denim) is called Cure, and when I wore it, it reminded me of the Dior Homme sstyle...but with a LOT more leftover leg. There must have been an inseam of about 40" with that one, or so it seemed.

I am becomming APC obsessed, I think when I go to pick up my suit next week I may have to try some of these jeans.

baklanyc---I am .5 an inch taller than you, and have pretty long legs for my frame, but I am wondering, with the 40 inch inseam, do you cuff them, hem them, or just walk on them? Thanks. The Cures sound fabooo.

/\ Then you might want to abandon the Cure jean, and go for the hipster - it has a lower rise. I found the Cure to be a little too high on my waistline. I haven't decided yet what to do with my jeans. I'm wearing them rumpled long right now, uncuffed. They seem to look fine. They're quite fitted around the thigh.

MJCouture, did you have APC alter your jacket for you? The sleeves on mine are too long, but with the working buttons on the sleeve hems, I'm wondering who to go to to get them shortened from the shoulders, which can be an iffy proposition if the tailors don't set it back in right. And at $350 for a basic cotton jacket, i don't want to spend too much on it.

I like their jeans alot.

Doe sThe Cure bunch up well at the bottom or does it just drag?

i wear all their jeans without hemming them. the bottoms bunch up and i like it like that. i have their new standards, my favorite. you need to buy 2 to 3 sizes smaller than your usual size bc they stretch and mold to you. they will be suffocating for a little while but their worth it after that. they look great on anyone and they give everyone a booty. i have never washed them and i've had them for about 2 years and no they don't smell that horrible. :P

I've just realised that I've been being an idiot all along, I'm going to Paris in about a week and a half, so I can check them all out then! There's even a surplus store for some bargains.

I am having them do it, but they will only do hems, nothing much more (they are taking the sleeve up a bit on mine, but it is of far less-complicated design than yours). They would probably recomend a good tailor, but I would be wary as you are about them not doing it just right. Good luck!

bakla...try luigi on 7 ave in chelsea...specialises in tailoring...i've had him do all kind of things from re-styling to re-sizing...i highly recommend him...
he could do that kind of alteration without a doubt...:flower:

Thanks for the recommendation, Soft, but I had a bad experience with Luigi :( - I used to use him/them really frequently then when I didn't have any alterations for a while, he accused me of going to another tailor, like a jealous lover! It was a bit too stalker-ish for me! His work's okay, but after his emotional outburst, I'm not going back!

How does APC fit overall? Should I get a couple of sizes smaller than I normally wear or does it depend on the piece (shirt, jeans, jacket, etc). Thanks for posting the website... :flower:
