I find it horrible that celebutantes are now being used as models in the ads for collections. It has been a while now, but the fall ads surprised me... even though I adore Selma Blair I think she would be more suitable for a profile than a Miu Miu ad (with Evan Rachel Wood and Lou Dillon). And now even cheaper designers, who usually used unknown models are falling for the trend: Brittany Murphy for Jordache, Nicole Richie and DJ AM for Bongo Jeans... I think The Gap is to blame. It was cheesy and funky, as a one-time-only to have SJP model different ways to wear jeans.... but recurring to C-listers (or even established stars -- Demi Moore for Versace) is way too cheap. Next time maybe Miu Miu can use Anouck, and for once, we can all focus on the clothes again.
