Etsy

I've purchased from all of these sellers, and their work is amazing...

Groundwork ; I ordered a print for my friend for Christmas, the quality is so beautiful, and I was sent an extra print along with it, for myself!

RachelleD ; Gorgeous necklaces, I ordered one for myself and one for my best friend for Christmas

SeaUnicorn ; Beautiful, unique pieces of jewelry!

MamaBethBling ; I have purchased from this store a few times, gorgeous hand stamped necklaces etc.

MichelleBrusegaard ; gorgeous personalised items, I bought 3 packs of personalised notecards, and they're simply beautiful!

I know a seller on Etsy who had there jewelry noticed and it is now selling in several boutiques so best of luck to those of you considering selling on the site..

I may have missed something about this while having a look around the site, apologies if so, but are people in the uk able to buy and sell?

Re. buying - it depends on where the seller is willing to ship - just like on Ebay.. as for selling I think everyone can..:flower:

^Thank you Hanne. :flower: I'm hoping to sell more than buy. I was hoping it would be a little easier to use than Ebay, it's so easy to get into disputes and encounter problems for sellers on Ebay. Plus for selling crafts there doesn't seem to be a big market for it on Ebay.

just found this etsy thread! I love etsy. I think its done so well in the past few years to go up against ebay. Personally I well prefer etsy to ebay for selling and buying. I have two shops on Etsy and when I first set up I wasnt sure if I was making the right decision going with Etsy but I think now it was. The layouts are way more user friendly and well prettier. There is less junk to go through too. I think the only disadvantage is less traffic. But Etsy is growing everyday so I'm sure that wont be an issue for long!

Oh my goodness, I've never heard of this before, it's a great site, I think I might do some brainstorming and go fabric shopping and see if I can put some stuff together for it. It'll be nice to do some designing for the sake of designing.

i love etsy too, and i like the fact that its so much cheaper to sell there than on ebay and the publications last for about 4 months which is great and super cheap. There isnt that much traffic but it has worked fine for me. And the conversations feature is great too, it lets you keep history of messages, im always confused when i get tons of messages from ebay.

just wondered if anyone had heard of folksy.com its like the english version of etsy. just wondering since if anyone had heard of it?

Can't say that I have.. but it looks promising! (just signed up myself)

i only know because my friend mentioned it to me she makes oraganic inspired things with natural dye techniques with nails etc. its interesting the results she gets with what she uses. things like eucalyptus leaves make the silk a lovely orangey colour, she did a whole collection for her final uni project and it was amazing what she could achieve.

heres the link to her folksy.
