my mum has a couple of 24k gold necklaces she's inherited from my grandma. i'll try to post pics of them when i get the chance.

Indian people are absolutely crazy about gold!

When it comes to gold i don't think i've ever worn anything less than 22k. My mother has quite a big collection of indian jewellery that has been passed down generation to generation through our family and some of it is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately its too expensive and flash to be wearing everday, so it only comes out when their is a party, wedding etc

oh, I just found this thread.

I never really thought about karat until I got a beautiful Gurhan necklace for my birthday. The 24-karat gold is really so much brighter and more beautiful. I am totally a convert.

Here are pictures of my necklace. I tried pictures w/ and w/o flash but my crappy camera really can't do it justice. Even the pictures on neimans and ylang can't do it justice so my pics don't stand a chance. Its gold and oxidized silver with little diamond chips.
