I loved her clothes, they're so...2005 but I mean that in the best way

Oh I totally agree with you. Very 2005 but I like that it reflects that time period. That's part of the reason why I love watching films because often times you can tell what era it was made/what was popular at the time based off of the clothes (unless it's a period piece).

I like what you said about film fashion. It does add to the enjoyment of films to see what people thought trendy, in style, or popular.

I do think you can tell with period films though. Early 1990s period films reflect the shapeless, modest, loose-fitting clothing prevalent of that time (Howards End) while period dramas from later in the decade feature clothing that is tighter, fitted and much sexier (Titanic). The costumes in period films often betray the contempory time in which they were shot via how the clothes and cut and the colour and/or pattern usage of the fabrics.

^That's true about period pieces, I hadn't really thought about that. I suppose even historical drama's can't escape reflecting the era in which they were made.

But I hope people don't mind if I share photo's from two movies which I watched today- Atonement and Made in Dagenham- and both had fantastic costumes (as well as amazing stories). ^_^
Atonement...

^ Fantastic selection!! When I was a lad and going to prep school in Manhattan, I saw that on some late TV movie one night and thought it was so romantic- NY as a cool place to meet a gorgeous Jane Fonda sort of girl- I thought she was SO hot in her early films!! Such are teenage dreams... ^_^
