Is there any kind of music or songs that makes you cry?
overwhelmed with emotions? makes you cry for the right reason?

PS. hope there is no similar topic already. if so, can this be merged? thanks :flower:

that song that plays during this 'please donate' commercial. "So this is Christmas...and what have we done". It makes me feel depressed.

bridge over troubled water always makes me depressed.

Good topic!

For me it's mostly some U2 tracks - since they've been the soundtrack of my life their songs cover almost all kinds of emotions I've experienced. Songs like "Bad" or "Miracle Drug" make feel really sad. Apart from these, The Clash's Straight To Hell can easily bring me to tears. I avoid listening to these songs at all costs.

Strange Fruit is very sad indeed. It captures a very sad and awful time in American history.

There are other songs which remind me of sad things in my own life as well as what is going on in the world.

Leonard cohen's hallelujah is one. KD Lang's cover of it was really good also.

Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven
Sarah McLachlan - Angel
This Mortal Coil - Song To The Siren

I could go on forever....

'Power Fantastic' by Prince makes me ball every time. Just something about the mood the instrumentation conveys.

cos I remember exactly where I was and what i was doing every time i heard those songs from fort lauderdale to firenze to montego bay to london and i think of loves lost and all the years gone by.
