She has an incredible presence on stage. I saw her at Neil Young's Bridge Benefit several years ago. David Bowie, Pete Townsend and Pearl Jam all played, as well as Neil with Crazy Horse. None of those performers are light on stage presence but she blew them all away. When she sang Dancin' Barefoot, the hairs on my neck stood up for the entire song. It was a truly religious experience.

Thanks for the thread!!! Patti is one of the rare people who wholly deserve to be a legend! what vexes me is that a lot of people think she is already dead, she seems to have become a name everybody knows but nobody really knows more than that :(

photographer steven sebring has been doing a documentary on her for the past 10 years or so, it should be released in some 'indie' theaters as well as on PBS. not sure when though, thats just what he told me.

i saw her perform at the beastie boys benefit for a free tibet...
i agree aabout her stage presence...

whe she started singing...people have the power...
you really believed...she is so honest and raw...

steven sebring was following her around that day sasha...and also filming the monks...
when did you last see him?...he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth...what's he doing these days?...

anyway...patti is ann demeulemeester's muse...and a huge inspiration for her collections... :flower:
