if they had put the old masthead on this cover I would have been pleasantly surprised. A step in the right direction I guess.

I quite like it!

The coloured bars at the bottom were unnecessary though. It bit too literal.

They could've done her way more justice than this! She's really beautiful, and I find that her hollow orbits often makes her profile look all the more stunning. But the angle, necklace, styling and background makes this look way too pedestrian. Not a fan at all.

Where do I petition for a Michaela Coel cover???? Surely some EIC must be watching Chewing Gum.

I am in love with Issa Rae and Insecure and it turns out she can't take a bad photo even if they tried. There is a selfie quality to the image that's somehow fitting for a magazine cover in 2018.

While I like the celebrities they've been having on their covers, I don't like the way the covers themselves are looking! Reminds me of a Nylon cover. New EIC needed pronto!!

This is so amateur. The light is casting shadows right in her eyes.
I will never get onboard with the elevation of 'Juergen Teller' style sub standard work.
It's like the art of portrait photography is a joke.

She's too beautiful to be given Glamour's juvenile treatment. If Anna was "brave" enough to feature Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham on her cover, she must give Issa the honor ASAP.

Looking at the edit, I actually wonder what it would have been like if Issa got the full Gucci treatment. Quirky accessories, garish sets, the works. Because these images are passable only because of her face, I can get lost in it. Her features are so perfect.

As for the Petra's annoying haze, and the odd fascination with white noise (or Claudia Schiffer, for those who fancy Phuel's drag) in this case, it's more redundant than cementing her signature.

Don't like the weird mistiness of the editorial shots, make it seem as if the camera lense needed a clean before they took the shots.
