I don't want to be nostalgic but VI used to be rich of story-telling. Not only Meisel, the other photographers also produced real stories. Now, we just get some models doing weird poses or standing straight like a tree in this "new VI".

Wish the rest of the issue was as strong as McDean's cover story. It's so intriguing; much like last year when Benjamin Bruno worked with Meisel for VI's best story of the year, this set that he styled is the best work so far by the mag in 2018. I do still feel like some of the images don't gel for me but there's enough there that makes an impact.

They have Guinevere, and this is the bland, generic and totally forgettable shoot and layout that’s been done a billion times treatment that they’re doing with her????? They just don’t get it, do they…? This really is the perfect display of throwing pearls before swine.

Dario needs to be banished to the wastelands of i-D, Dazed and Love where his subpar level of skills can exist in harmony with Katie and all those types so desperately seeking the approval of kidz.
