YOHJI vs DIOR

oStelios- it is likely that others have done painted shoes before but I'm not familiar enough with either of those brands to say who actually did it first. It is a nice treatment to do to a pair of shoes and I really like the effect it produces especially when the paint starts to crack and the underlying surface is revealed. But I hope this doesn't become a trend and everyone starts wearing painted shoes.

I don't really like the scribbles on the shoe, it reminds me of the time when I was 12 and my schoolmates scribbled words and drawings onto their white school shoes (we wore uniforms in school). It also seems like an amatuerish attempt was made to customize the shoes. Correct me if I am wrong, is the base shoe a generic shoe type because i clearly remember seeing shoes with the same design (without the scribbbles) selling at gucci a few years ago?

softgrey - how are you going to produce the cracked effect? Please tell us about your project after you've done it.
