His clothes seem so vibrant and happy; you can hardly help but smile when you see the vivid colors and prints. Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures and information!

Emilio Pucci silk jersey dress, c.1970

Vintage Pucci dresses are higher quality than current models. This one is fashioned from liquid silk jersey that gently accentuates your curves. I love the elastic shirred bodice!

The print is rendered in beautiful shades of purple, pink ivory, and lilac on a magenta ground. It is signed "Emilio" throughout. The dress is very well made with meticulous attention to detail. The bodice back is lined with lilac silk; the waistline seam is bound with this same silk.

There is an inside gros-grain ribbon-and-hook closure. The dress closes in back with a metal zipper. There are two labels in the dress. One reads "100% silk/Made in Italy for Lord and Taylor." The other reads "Emilio Pucci/Florence/Italy."

Pucci was a natural stylist, who began designing by chance. While skiing in 1947, he met a Harper's Bazaar fashion photographer, who asked to photograph his ski outfit. When she learned that he had personally designed the outfit, she asked him to design women's ski wear that she wanted to photograph for a story. The look of ski clothes changed forever, and a new fashion empire was born.

Pucci silk jersey dress, 1960s

The dress is fashioned from liquid silk jersey that gently accentuates your curves. The easy, slip on T-shirt style seems totally modern, especially now that the 1960s and 1970s are back in vogue. The dress, which is signed "Emilio" throughout, also has a Pucci label and a Lord & Taylor label—see the bottom picture.
