1940s fashion on the runway

There was a thread about this collection in the Designers-sections...But if we are supposed to discuss about the 1940s on the catwalk, I have to say I have very divided opinions. On the other had I like some of it, when it is more subtle, but I hate it when it's done in a way it was done in the fall 2004, when ladylike became a huge trend.

On a whole I adore the 40's fashion.I think it's very elegant and has a femme fatale-feeling in it.

I just saw a glimpse of a film with Julianne Moore and she was wearing the most elegant 40s clothing, it was pure beauty. Not sure was the film good though, all I could concentrate on were the beautiful clothes  And now I'm going off-topic, excuse me.

1940s punk glam

What do you exactly mean with this term? 40s mixed up with punk and glam rock or glamour (which was essential for the 40s)? I'm confused

Whatever you're talking about I think I'm in love! Please post pictures or give examples.

I hope it's the 40's "Film Noir" look, which I love, and not the up-tight lady-like look.
