A Retrospective: Harper's Bazaar US under Liz Tilberis : 1992 - 1999

MMA,that stark editorial with stella is from 98 not 96. that was one of my rare favourite brana wolf stories.

i know what you mean HFGL! re. both Harper's Bazaar & UK Vogue (1988 to 1991). i have a lot of for Vogue UK & HB in the periods she was editor.

i started buying UK Vogue in 1987, but from 1988 when Tilberis took over i bought every issue, & it went the same way with HB - her HB was so different from Mazzola's & she really updated it (i think Mazzola's early 90's HB were still pretty much stuck in the 80's) & made it feel fresh again.

a bit off topic, but i'd love to see a thread for the Mazzola era Harper's Bazaar too (1972 to August 1992), so i guess i should start one myself at some point. from the period i'm familiar with (just the last few years) his aren't a patch of the Tilberis HBs but they still have some great stuff in them, particularly the Phillip Dixon (whose work i love) editorials.
