I understand there is a weight difference between a A/W and S/S leather jacket…..but I was just wondering how much the disparity really is….and when you can wear each. I was thinking that a S/S one might be more versatile with just a shirt under it in the spring and early fall and a sweater in the later fall and winter. The reason I ask is because of the huge discounts due to the sales on ‘06 S/S lines. I am very highly considering picking up a Givenchy leather jacket and don’t know if the S/S one will be my best bet. Thanks. Any info or options would be appreciated.
I have an S/S and a F/W and it works year-round, really. Yea, S/S tends to be lighter, but it's mostly due to the lining/padding, rather than the leather itself (not always the case, of course). It also depends how you wear it - I wear my leather jackets with t-shirts or with sweaters.
. Maybe you can find a leather jacket with detachable lining - that would work year-round!
