Absolutely Fabulous

yay! I absolutely loved last two episodes... ;-)

I loved Jeanne Durand's chracter - ''Later! Later! I am not the machine"! ;-)

For anyone in the UK it will air on Monday 23rd July on BBC1 at 9:30pm and it's on for half an hour.

This wasn't previously posted, their Sport Relief 2012 special starring Kate Moss, Stella McCartney, David Gandy, Emma Bunton, Colin Jackson, Linford Christie & David Haye.

Patsy & Edina were out in force yesterday carrying the Olympic Torch, apparently they were complaining about the tracksuits .

When the transition of the torch happens one of the 'guards' tells them to smile for the camera .

Watched the Olympics special the other night. Mostly very good. The ending scene was classic AbFab. Some things didn't quite work. Nathan Lane was really not funny. Tried too hard. Also, I don't know if I'm in minority here, but I absolutely cannot stand Bubble. I've never seen the actress who plays Bubble in anything else so I don't know if she's always this unfunny, but either way, the character is terribly written. Too over the top and incredibly annoying.

With that said, whenever Bubble is not on screen, AbFab is always good for a laugh. Hope they'll churn out some more specials.

I've always loved Bubble, but have to agree with you here. In these few 2012 episodes, the character is poorly written. I mean, back in the original series, you could believe that there was a quirky, flaky 20-something Bubble, but now, when everyone is in their late 40s to late 70s and even Sapphie is 30-something, it doesn't fly anymore.

Jane Horrocks is an amazing talent (please rent "Little Voice") but is, in my opinion, undervalued here and the writing for a much older Bubble really sucks. I love everyone else, and the writing for the other characters is fine, esp. taking their "senior-hood" into play and addressing this inevitability with humor and grace. Bubble's character, unfortunately, has shown no growth and they've stuck her in a time warp.

well you could also argue too that the show as a whole is over-exaggerated and over-the-top silly as well. i mean,i think that's the whole point about the bubble character is that she is over the top, annoying and completely useless as a PA. for me every time that character is in a scene i laugh like a little kid. it's a silly character on a silly, slapstick show. we have to remember this is a comedy and this being all that is abfab we need that injection of pure outrageous.

^I don't have an issue with 'over the top' per se, it's her kind of over the top that I despise. It's just not funny. She acts like a monkey most of the time and it's just not appealing, nor does it bring anything to the show.
