In his second season after buying back the rights to his name, Adam Lippes is feeling good. “We are in all the stores we wanted to be in,” he said while showing his resort collection, which continued the “cool but refined” aesthetic he set up for fall. Inspired by the artist Peter Dayton, Lippes played with blooming floral patterns in pink and yellow on silk track pants and an easy shirtdress. He also addressed the idea of depth — another Dayton reference — through a strapless dress layered with a panel of softly pleated silk that fell down the side and back, for example. When it came to eveningwear, Lippes riffed on the currently hot crop-top trend in a elegant way, showing a gown that appeared to be two pieces — a short top and a long skirt — connected by a sheer lace panel.
