If you look closely, you can see how the dress is being laid on the model.
    How magical!

    Um..........

So I just looked at this on catwalking and that's basically it! It's that one dress, and they show the various stages of putting it on the model and that's all. It's kind of weird I think. Who'd want that? And the end product was ugly!

I think this would have been a really cool concept if the final product had looked more elegant/chic/beautiful.........Maybe you have to appreciate construction and craftsmanship more than I do to appreciate it though. This cold be a complete work of art and I'm just missing it.

i agree.. very plain result.. but a sort of nice idea, and it's great it doesn't look heavy at all even at the end, with all those layers

i was expecting there would be less wrinkling though.

Sort of like a Viktor & Rolf idea.

    Is that Vivienne Westwood?

It's an interesting concept atleast. I hope the rest of the couture shows try to be different like this. I almost fell asleep looking at the photos from Dior haute couture.

The end result is quite boring and this reminds me of the Russian Doll collection from Viktor & Rolf except none of this looks appealing.

I don't really know what to think.
This might take a while to digest.

This immediately catches my eye because it's a unique presentation. I love how it goes from the clothesline to the dress. The dress, admittedly, is dowdy. However this wins for how it is presented.

Adeline André is sort of a Couture resistant ...

She always shows btw all the Warriors and nobody really pays attention to her.
    :innocent:

She officially does Couture since the mid 90s - but works the Couture way since the mid 80s (ie has customers she does special outfits for)

I'm not really surprised of what she's done this season ... It's kind of her ....

Viktor and Rolf? And I saw a CDG dress that had the same idea.

do you mean she has done it all before any of them?
or she doesn't care about what everyone is doing

or she is just old-fashioned now...
    :ermm:

viktor & rolf with their cardboard coloured wedding dress that they put on, layer by layer on the mannequin. i think the idea is based on babushka dolls
cdg is known for layering but i can't think of a collection where they staged this...

^i wouldn't be able to say if she did it before V&R did it in the 90s ...
But she did it in her previous Couture, for sure ...

And when I say she's out of this world, I meant that she's someone very discreet, that I doubt would copy another designer work.
Her work is about sheer, sleeves, layering, colours etc.

I understand her body of work can sound old-fashioned or boring, but I think she's someone who's done such a unique work for decades ...
To me she was minimalist, before Calvin Klein ! - and she was !

She's worth more attention than media seem to give her !
Her work really needs a relecture and reevaluation !
