I don't want to turn this into an Ale vs. Adriana discussion because I think they have distinct careers and have both achieved a ton given that they are the ONLY brazilian girls working post-2000s Gisele wave and I think that is a huge accomplishment.
That being said, Carine's support of Adriana that you claim is dubious at best. Yes, Carine said she likes her as a model, but during Carine's reign as EIC of Vogue Paris she gave Adriana only 1 editorial. And all I can recall recently of them working together is the Harper's Bazaar Romeo and Juliet editorial and the VMan calendar. Ale had an editorial in CR and walked in the Amfar Gala's Gold show.
Riccardo has had Adriana walk twice, and has given her 1 campaign. Equivalent for Ale with Dolce and Gabbana. Prada has definitely supported Adriana and that is awesome, because she has killed those Miu Miu campaigns. Katie Grand was obsessed with Ale, and although she's not the world's most important editor, it means somethings but they haven't worked together in about a year.
What I'm trying to get at is there are people who support both girls, but obviously that's not enough for either of them. If I'm being honest, I do think Adriana would get a VI/VP cover before Ale, but the truth is that both of them should be getting more work than they currently do. They should both have more than 6/7 Vogue covers, because they're both stunning models who can sell.
And with regards to pads, yes I don't think it makes the most sense. But the market is Latin America and they paid her millions so at the end of the day she got a huge paycheck.
I think the reality is that Ale and Adriana are in their early 30s with 2 kids, and Candice is like 25 and willing to hustle a lot harder. Right place right time says a lot. Again, I don't want to turn this into an argument but just my two cents.
