I think her middle part is actually better loooking than a side part or with fringe...imo

She has said in many an interview that her style influences tend to be more tomboyish (e.g. Patti Smith, Alison Mosshart) so maybe that is why you get that vibe? I like that she is different than most, and doesn't pander to expectations.

No thats not it at all...I find Patti Smith and Alison incredibly sexy - indeed, they are two of my favourites!!!!

But everything that Alexa wears is so juvenile - she looks like a little girl, I guess thats what I mean by sexless. I certainly don't think that one needs to wear push up bras and mini skirts to be sexy.

Alexa does not dress like a tom boy!!!!! She is always in frilly, pretty dresses - Just look at everything she wore at Chanel resort, would a tom boy wear a pink taffeta number like that????? She is not comparable to Patti or Alison.

I think she's said that she wanted to be sexy but not 'lad's mag sexy' but then she's in vogue with tousled hair, smoky eyeliner, a bra and a miniskirt. I don't get her sex appeal but hey, if it works for Alex Turner that's all that matters.

Just saw the Kills last weekend, and yup, Alison is tres sexy!

But I still disagree that Alexa is "always" in girly things. She wears cut offs loads, and her casual style frequently has tomboyish elements: school boy jackets, cut offs, peacoats, skinny jean w/boots, band Ts, etc.

Yes, at the Chanel thingy she was ultra fem, but likely she was given those looks to wear.

As for the vintage Balenciaga, it goes with Alexa's other love: 60s style. She also loves Jane Birkin and the like, so Alexa frequently goes with short swingy dresses. Makes sense she'd pick something like that.

She has a sort of "nerdy" component also, which might be what you are sensing.

Anyhow, I like her style. It may be evolving though, now that she has become more embroiled in high fashion,over the last year or two. Maybe she is still figuring things out.
